Diabetic assessments
Diabetes is the leading cause of non-trauma related foot amputation in
Australia. In almost all cases these amputations could have been prevented
with good quality foot care.
Diabetes can pose significant risks to a patients feet so podiatry care is
essential. Kristy Cooke was initially a nurse before becoming a Podiatrist,
given the systemic nature of the condition Kristy is the perfect choice to
ensure your diabetic feet are kept in the best possible condition.
Kristy has extensive experience in managing the diabetic foot and has run a
number of education campaigns on diabetic foot health.
Make an appointment today and take the first step in preventing the long
term complications that diabetes can cause.
Children Foot assessments
There are a number of reasons why children may need to see a podiatrist.
The most common problems we see in children include:
- Flat feet
- Tired aching legs, sometimes referred to as 'Growing Pains'
- Intoeing or pigeon toed walking
- Knock kneed children
- Toe walking
- Curly toes
- Children with sports related injuries
- Plantar warts and ingrown toenails
Steve, Kristy and Vish have all worked extensively with children at this
practice and in their previous clinics.
Steve was formerly the lecturer on Paediatrics in the School of Podiatry at
Curtin University and now ensures his staff are well trained in managing all
aspects of your child's feet.
Foot Orthoses
At Steve Jackson Podiatry we provide a wide range of foot orthoses options
to fit a wide variety of conditions, shoes and budgets. With our on site
orthoses laboratory we are able to customise, modify and refurbish a wide
range of custom and off-the- shelf orthoses.
We stock an extensive range of off the shelf foot orthoses. When combined
with a thorough assessment our podiatrist can modify them to your individual
needs to produce a semi-customised orthosis which is effective and
comfortable.
We can also produce fully customised orthoses using our 3D digitally foot
scanning equipment. These can be produced from a range of different
materials and are expertly prescribed to assist in alleviating your symptoms.
At Steve Jackson Podiatry we provide on-site orthotic repairs, refurbishments
and modifications which in many cases can be completed while you wait. Just
make an appointment and bring in your devices so, where possible, we can
have your orthoses working like new again.
With our extensive range of orthotic options we confident we can provide
devices which are comfortable, fit your shoes and resolve your foot issues.
3D Digital foot scanning
Our state of the art digital scanning technology
removes the need for time consuming and messy plaster
of paris casting.
We have found the technology produces a much more
accurate image of the foot and therefore results
in a more effective and more comfortable pair of
orthoses.

Nail surgery
In most cases we can resolve your ingrown toe nail
without the need for nail surgery. However in cases
that are recurrent nail surgery is often the best
option.
We perform partial and total nail avulsions under
local anaesthetic within the clinic. The procedure
is quick and simple and painless.
In patients who are concerned about having needles
we have a safe and effective inhaled medication that
relieves anxiety and allows the patient to be relaxed
throughout the procedure.
No matter what your concern or issue, please
call to discuss your specific requirements and let
us help you.
